AT least 56 students, who benefitted from Chevron Company Limited and Agbami Co-Venture scholarship programme, have graduated from University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State.

Three of the graduands were awarded First Class, while 46 others graduated in the Second Class Upper division.

Chevron Management said the scholarship is given yearly to higher institutions across the country to enhance the standard of education in Nigeria.

The firm said the scheme is open to all qualified students studying medicine and engineering in Nigerian Universities.

One of the beneficiaries, who emerged with First Class division, from the Department of Gas Engineering, Fadoyeni Thomas, said the scheme assisted him in making his academic dream a reality.

He noted that there are several intelligent youths across the country, who do not have enough support from their parents and guardians to further their education, calling on other organisations to emulate the gesture of his sponsors and reach out to Nigerian youths.
