Seven persons were yesterday confirmed dead in a lone accident at Ayekale village along the Ibadan-Ilorin expressway.
  
The fatal auto crash, which occurred due to an alleged over-speeding, involved a commercial vehicle christened ‘Toyota Bumper’ marked; Plateau ZAR600XY.

  
Sources said that the crash, which involved 19 males, left 12 of them injured, while seven died on the spot.
    
The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jonathan Owoade, who confirmed the incident, said there was no first aid treatment given to the victims of the crash when it happened about 4:00 a.m.
 
Owoade, said the Nigeria Police Division, Bode Saadu, took injured victims to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, while officials of  FRSC took the deceased persons to the mortuary at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
 
He also said that personal items recovered from the victims have been deposited at the Nigeria Police Division, Bode Saadu in the Moro Local Government Area of the state.
