Abba Kyari: Workhorse harried by COVID-19

If not that it is happenstance, the direct question to the highly contagious Corona virus, also known as COVID-19, should be, why sting Abba Kyari?

If not that it is happenstance, the direct question to the highly contagious Corona virus, also known as COVID-19, should be, why sting Abba Kyari?

Not only has he been absorbing the fiery verbal darts from Nigerian citizens, but the quiet and taciturn Abba Kyari is also the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

As Chief of Staff, it is on his shoulders that the burden of the Buhari presidency falls and he has been discharging his onerous duties with composure, calm and dutiful efficiency.

It was also as part of his choking job schedule that Kyari had to travel to Germany, where he was to endorse a partnership agreement on behalf of Nigeria with a global energy giant for the steady supply of qualitative power in Nigeria.

When the Chief of Staff flew to Germany, all his thoughts and plans were to put pen on paper and return to Nigeria to clear his trayful of files. But unknown to him as he left the ink of his pen on the papers in Germany, he was to return with the dreaded virus.

However, since contacting the Corona virus does not amount to a death sentence, there is no cause for the sad sighs and mournful looks, all that patriotic citizens ought to do is wash their hands and pray, as well as observe other precautionary measures stipulated by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Cry not for Kyari, pray he returns soon to his beat!
