Abia State Agency For Mass Literacy, Adult And Non-Formal Education has trained about 300,000 adult learners, 533 facilitators in its 355 Study Centers located in the 17 LGAs of the state.

Executive Director of the Agency, Chief Godfrey Akara, revealed this in a chat. He said that the evening and weekend classes that were suspended before his tenure began had been activated.

He urged the state governments to be more committed to and support the Adult Education programme.

He also advised the learners to take advantage of the opportunity to improve their level of education, stressing that the learning centers are located very close to them, even as they are available in the three state Prisons at Aba, Arochukwu and Umuahia.
