Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has urged Muslims nationwide to offer prayers for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el Maulud.

The governor noted the need for Nigerians to come together and pray for the country’s progress, unity and development.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, Abiodun also called on Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad, which include love, tolerance, peace, and humility.

He urged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of Eid-el Maulud to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet and strive to live a life of righteousness and selflessness.

The Governor expressed his commitment to providing good and effective governance to the people of the state as he called on Muslims to continue to support his administration and pray for its success.
Also, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has called on the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad to sow the seed of peace and unity.

This is contained in a congratulatory message to the Muslim faithful issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

According to the governor, peace and unity are key to a sustainable world of harmony and cohesion.

Adeleke, who referred to the birth of Prophet Muhammad as a moment of profound significance for the Muslim Ummah, said the guiding light served by Holy Prophet to humanity must not be lost on every Muslim.
