Abuja resident docs strike over alleged IPPIS infractions
The Abuja chapter of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) has embarked on an indefinite strike over alleged irregularities in salary payment and shortfalls since the introduction of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) by the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA).
Briefing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, president of the association, Dr. Roland Aigbovo, lamented that his members had been thrown into serious financial distress on account of the development.
He said after the association’s first quarter ordinary general meeting on February 24, 2020, a 14-day ultimatum was issued to the FCTA management to resolve the issues but nothing concrete came out of it.
