ACGPN inducts new members

The Association of Corporate Governance Professionals, Nigeria, conducted its second induction for new fellows, members, associates and graduate members.The inductees at the event were educated on guidance and standards expected of Corporate Governance Practitioners

The President and Chairman of the Council, Sam Ohuabunwa, in his welcome address, emphasised the need for all to realize that without Corporate Governance in place, minimum development cannot be expected in our country. He further said that with institution of Corporate Governance, at home, Nigerians can hold their own anywhere in the world.

The guest speaker, the Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of Establishment, Dr Akinola Benson Oke, applauded the excellent initiative behind the association
He further acknowledged the vision of the founders and the efforts of the Council members in realizing and sustaining the vision.

“As a non-profit organisation comprised principally of Corporate Governance specialists and business executives in governance, ethics and compliance functions at public, private and not-for-profit organizations, this Association is uniquely serving Nigeria’s corporate environment by providing the vital requisite training, knowledge bank and oversight that is a sine qua non in any efforts to enthrone and sustain sound Corporate Governance principles”, he said.

They were presented for induction by the registrar, Mr. Femi Mosaku-Johnson and the Executive Director, Mrs Dorcas James who lauded all the inductees for the role they played and in ensuring that the programme was a success.
