Adamawa Elders endorse Fintiri as governor in 2019
Adamawa North Elders have backed former acting governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintri, as candidate for the governorship position in the 2019 elections.
Addressing journalists, yesterday, in Yola, the spokesman, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Mubi, said the group has no political affiliation and its target is to produce a leader that can take the state to the next level of economic development.
The spokesman, who is from Mubi-South Local Government, the same as state governor, Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow, accused the incumbent of performing below expectation.
He alleged that the governor did not give adequate attention to the challenge of insecurity and failed to complement Federal Government’s efforts towards finding a permanent solution to the problem
Mubi, who expressed confidence in the leadership of Fintiri to address the problems confronting the people of Adamawa, noted that Fintiri’s three months as acting governor brought significant impact to the people.
He urged the people not to vote according to political affiliations, religion or ethnicity but chose quality leadership.
