Adeboye seeks increased budget for education, health, infrastructure

Urges FG to tackle corruption, job creation, others
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Adejare Adeboye, has charged the Federal Government to emulate the developed countries by increasing budget for education, health and infrastructure.

Adeboye, who spoke yesterday while ministering at the RCCG Headquarters, Throne of Grace in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, during a thanksgiving service, represented by the Assistant General Overseer, RCCG (Admin. & Personnel), Pastor Johnson Odesola, said for Nigeria to become part of the unbeatable champion nations in the world, government should reduce by 50 per cent salaries and emoluments of governors and members of the House of Assembly.

He also noted that for the nation to move forward in 2020, corruption should be fought totally without minding whose ox is gored.

He warned on the danger of universities churning out a large number of graduates every year without job creation and tasked the leadership on tackling the issue of unemployment.

The cleric also emphasised encouragement of youths to become entrepreneurs right from school by giving them fresh orientation and jettison the British system of education, which only train students to finish their education and be looking for jobs.

Adeboye, who canvassed regional governments, advised government to avoid putting more burdens on Nigerians by increasing some tariffs such as energy.
