ADP urges transparency in fuel subsidy
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to revisit the subsidy regime on petroleum products in the larger interest of the country.
Its National Chairman, Sani Yabaji, who spoke at the party’s 16th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja, maintained that more needed to be done to ensure that Nigerians reap the benefits of subsidising petroleum products.
He urged President Buhari to consider payment of fuel subsidy directly to filling stations to eliminate middlemen.
Sani also urged the National Assembly to make necessary laws to ensure that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conduct local government elections across the country.
