Destroy Houses, Cart Away Animals
Armed bandits invaded two communities in Chukun Local Council of Kaduna State, killing six people and injuring several others.

The armed men stormed Falana and Rimi communities at about 6 am, yesterday, shooting at the inhabitants as they fled their homes. They thereafter carted away valuables and cows worth millions of naira.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Joseph Hayap, and the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo confirmed the attack.

Hayab who condemned the attack and killings said: “We have been crying that our people are no longer safe in the state, but the government would not listen. I was informed by several Christians living in the affected areas that they were attacked and their possessions carted away. The people were crying that they are no longer safe in their homes because the gunmen came, invaded their communities, killed their people, and went away with their cows and other belongings.

“We have shouted and talked to the government, but they said that we are playing politics. They blackmail us and do a lot of things to us. Now, see what has happened in Kaduna today and tell me who is playing politics. People are dying; they are being attacked daily; yet we cannot feel the impact of government. We will continue to shout, and that is why we are calling on the government to intervene and salvage the situation.”

When contacted the PPRO, Sabo said he was collecting details of the attacks and killings from the affected areas.

He, however said he could not confirm the number of casualties or the level of destruction “because the report is being compiled from the troubled communities. As soon as I get full details, I will issue a statement.”
