The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) yesterday released the final report on a fatal accident involving Bristow Helicopters (Nigeria) Limited Sikorsky S-76C+ helicopter that crashed on August 12, 2015.

The accident, which occurred in Lagos, killed six out of the 12 occupants, including the two pilots and crew.

Also released were serious incident reports on the Pan African Airlines Nigeria Ltd’s Bell 412 EP helicopter, with the registration number 5N-BDZ that crashed near SEDCO Energy Platform on July 26, 2004, Emirates Boeing 777-200 aircraft with the registration number A6-EWD and Aero Contractors Nigeria Ltd B737-42C aircraft, with registration number 5N-BOB, which equally occurred in July 2015.

Commissioner of AIB, Akin Olateru, told reporters in Lagos that some of the accidents and serious incidents would have been averted if parties involved had adhered to safety policies.
