Towards the upkeep of the son and widow of the late Assistant Director of Information, Mr. Itoro Ntuen, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, has presented N2 million cheque to the family.

Making the presentation in the conference room of the Ministry, Ememobong said the donation was redemption of the pledge he made to the family during the funeral service for the late employee of the Ministry at Ikot Ntuen in Essien Udim Council in November.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Akparawa James Edet, at the occasion, Ememobong said he was moved by the sordid plight of the heir and only child of the late Itoro Ntuen and the pathetic condition of his widow to take up the upkeep of “Itoro Ntuen Jr” and the empowerment of the widow.

He expressed hope that the N2 million would go a long way towards the upkeep of the child and boosting the entrepreneurial venture of the widow of the late Assistant Director of Information.

Responding on behalf of the family, a former two-term member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Nse Ntuen, expressed appreciation to the commissioner for his deep love for mankind as demonstrated in the donation. He pledged judicious use of the fund for the rehabilitation of the bereaved son and wife.
