AIESEC’s regional congress begins

AIESEC Alumni Africa & Middle East, which began yesterday in Ikeja, Lagos ends on Sunday, March 18, 2018.

The theme of is “Positioning For Global Impact – Leadership and economic synergy in a transforming world”.

Borne out of a need to look outwards and become significantly involved in global citizenship and leadership, creating transformation within our different localities as well as globally. From leaders of large industries and organizations to entrepreneurs, we are seeking ways to synergize our various strengths, spur innovation and create positive global impact in leadership, business synergy across regions and service to humanity.

The 70th Anniversary celebration of AIESEC globally will be marked during the GALA Night dinner of the conference, on the 16th of March 2018. preceded by the Business connect event. The keynote speech will be delivered at this event by Engr. Ajibola Olajide; The Group CEO for Deefort Group, a multi-faceted company involved in several key sectors including Oil& Gas, Cement Manufacturing, Mining & Construction, Food & Beverage, and Heavy Duty manufacturing sectors. He will be speaking on Transforming Nigeria’s economy by leveraging on technology, innovation & global entrepreneurship. Other speakers at the business connect include, Jide Ipaye; Founder Keexs (The footwear Brand), Moses Babatope; Group COO FilmOne and Co-Founder of Filmhouse and Mrs Elsie Akin-Adesola COO at Digitalreality Print Limited amongst others.

In contributing towards actualizing the Sustainable Development Goal number 4 “Quality Education” during this congress, AIESEC Alumni Nigeria will also launch the Inspire Africa Project which is designed to inspire young people across Nigeria through storytelling and ICT skills empowerment in a bid to propel our young people to dream, believe and rise above odds to fulfill their potentials. Within the first year of this project, we aim to empower 1,000,000 young people, ignite the spirit of achievement, promote equality and create change agents.
