Air Force organises medical screening, sanitation for Oshodi community

The Nigeria Air Force (NAF), 651 Base Service Group, Ikeja, has organised free medical screening for members of Oshodi Community on diabetes, obesity and hypertension.

The Group also engaged in sanitation exercise around the community to ensure a clean environment and reduce infections among the residents.

Speaking at the event, Commander of the Group, Air Commodore Sunday Makinde said the programme is a yearly event by the Nigeria Air Force as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to give back to the society where they operate.

Makinde said: “We decided to organise the medical outreach and sanitation because sanitation and medical screening go hand in hand and we have given out drugs for those with minor sickness, but any patient with severe sickness we direct them to our hospital for proper treatments.”

Chairman, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyo commended their efforts in ensuring the people of Oshodi Community imbibe healthy lifestyle.
