Air Peace in Egypt to airlift stranded Nigerians

Air Peace Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has confirmed that his airline has already landed in Egypt to airlift stranded Nigerian citizens who had to leave war-torn Sudan.
“Evacuation update: Our wide-body Boeing 777 with Registration Number 5N-BVE took off from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 15:10hrs today to Egypt to airlift stranded Nigerians consequent upon the ongoing crisis in Sudan,” Air Peace tweeted.
“Beyond commercial operations, we are sensitive and responsive to societal issues and will continue to engage in humanitarian interventions as led by our Chairman, Barr. Allen Onyema.
“We also thank the Federal Government for their role in making this evacuation possible. Let’s wish our fellow countrymen a safe flight back to their fatherland.”
The chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa also confirmed that Air Peace is in Egypt to help return all the Nigerian evacuees from Sudan back to the country.
“@flyairpeace has just landed. Big gratitude to the Nigerian Embassy in Egypt for their tireless efforts,” Dabiri-Erewa tweeted while providing an update on the evacuation of Nigerians from the war-ravaged Sudan.
Onyema had said on April 24 that he was willing to evacuate Nigerians stranded in Sudan. He said in a statement that Nigerian students and others stranded in war-ravaged Sudan have urgent “needs for our help.”
The conflict between the Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary group, Rapid Support Force (RSF), has claimed over 500 lives with about 4,000 injured.
The clashes have also displaced thousands of civilians, who fled the capital, Khartoum since the violence started on April 8.
