Aiyedatiwa flags off construction of 11.9km Owo Road to boost food security

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa

More Mimiko’s allies dump PDP for APC

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has flagged off the construction of the 11.9-kilometre Molege-Agunbiade Road in Owo East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to boost food production in the state.

Aiyedatiwa, while performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the project at Molege, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, said that when completed, the road would ease access to farmlands.

The governor also revealed the plan to build nine agro-logistics centres across the three senatorial districts of the state, one of which, he said, would be in Owo East LCDA.

In another development, more allies and associates of former Governor Olusegun Mimiko have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors were received into the APC rank, yesterday, at the party’s secretariat in Akure, the state capital, a few weeks after 29 associates of the former governor joined the APC fold.

Aiyedatiwa, while welcoming the defectors to APC, said that the defection of the allies of the former governor had already sealed the victory for the party.

According to Aiyedatiwa, APC now has “all the major players of the Adefarati era, all the major players of the Agagu era, and now all the key players of the Mimiko era in one party, all in the bid to move Ondo State forward on all fronts.

Chairman of APC in the state, Ade Adetimehin, who said that the best materials in the PDP have joined the APC, stressed: “It is the beginning of good things to happen to Ondo APC.”
