Ajimobi offers N5m reward over Oyo lawmaker’s killers
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State yesterday, offered N5 million rewards, for information that could lead to the arrest of culprits responsible for the murder of the state lawmaker, Gideon Aremu.
Ajimobi promised that information offered by the volunteers would be treated with utmost confidence.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Yomi Layinka, he said government would leave no stone unturned in arresting perpetrators of the heinous crime.
The deceased lawmaker, who was murdered last Friday, represented Orelope constituency in the state’s legislature.
Ajimobi said he was still saddened by the gruesome killing of the lawmaker, which have shattered the peace the state enjoyed in the past five years.
According to the governor, the reward is to “ further demonstrate government’s commitment to the ongoing investigation of the immediate and remote causes of the murder of the parliamentarian, who was allegedly gunned down in front of his home in Alakia, Ibadan.
