The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, founded by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has distributed buses to its coordinators in 14 states to strengthen grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Asuku, presented the vehicles to the state coordinators in Abuja on Sunday, explaining that the initiative was designed to improve coordination and extend the group’s activities across the states.
He said the latest distribution complemented an earlier provision of vehicles for local government coordinators, adding that the new buses would enable state officials to oversee activities across their respective states.
“The vehicles we gave them in those states are majorly meant for the local government coordinators to enable them to coordinate the affairs of their respective local governments.
“But this is going directly to the office of the state coordinators. This is going to assist them to manage the affairs of the entire state,” Asuku said.
He urged the beneficiaries to maintain regular contact with the national secretariat and provide feedback from their field activities.
Asuku attributed the initiative to the movement’s founder and grand patron, Tompolo, whom he said believed Tinubu deserved another term to consolidate his administration’s achievements.
“Our Founder and Grand Patron, High Chief Dr Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has made us understand that the President is doing well.
“He has done well in his first term. He should be given more time to consolidate what he has started in the last three and a half years,” he said.
Asuku urged Nigerians, particularly youths and women, to support Tinubu’s re-election, citing infrastructure, human capital development and other sectors as areas in which he believed the administration had made progress.
He also appealed to voters to look beyond ethnic and religious considerations when making political choices.
“It is not the time to play tribal politics, it’s not the time to go after religious sentiments, it’s the time to see the future of Nigeria,” he said.
The Lagos State Coordinator, Amosu Kazeem Oluwatomi, commended Tompolo for supporting Tinubu, describing the gesture as evidence of the President’s appeal beyond the South-West.
“It is so gratifying that a non-Lagosian, a non-South Westerner, is deeming it fit to support our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at this time. It shows that the level of acceptance of the President cuts across the nooks and crannies of Nigeria,” Oluwatomi said.
He said the movement would use the vehicles to expand its engagement with communities across Lagos State, expressing confidence that it would secure increased support for Tinubu in 2027.
Similarly, the Kwara State Coordinator, Omuiyadun Hammed Dimeji, said the vehicles would help members educate residents about government policies and the impact of the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda.
He maintained that the group’s activities would focus on explaining government policies rather than spreading political propaganda.
“These vehicles are not given to us to spread political propaganda, but to go around to preach the gospel of policy,” Dimeji said.
He expressed confidence that Kwara voters would support Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 elections.
“Kwara State will come all out to vote massively for President Tinubu and all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, because in Kwara State we are going forward,” he said.
