Rotimi Akeredolu

The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has urged the people to support the new Integrated Financial Management Information System (SIFMIS) in the state.

Akeredolu, who made the appeal yesterday in Akure, said the scheme would yield good governance through technology in the state. He said his administration has achieved significant milestones with the SIFMIS, which was implemented some months ago.

He said the project’s steering committee had met the required standard, adding that all data had been migrated to the SIFMIS system. The governor said various users in the state had gone through series of intensive training, noting that the system was ready to function in a new way.

“Like I said during the SIFMIS project launch, I would like to emphasise that the SIFMIS is a priority for this administration and must be successful. If there is any situation that would threaten the success of the project, come to me personally and I would ensure that it is resolved.

“The SIFMIS project would drastically change the way we handle our procurement, accounting processes, human resources and payroll, including the way we pay vendors and the reports we generate,” he said.

The governor urged the civil servants to embrace the operations, as he hinged the technological revolution of the workforce on the scheme’s technical features.
