Ali mourns eight victims of NCS operation in Katsina
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd.), has expressed sadness over the accident during operations by officials of the service that resulted in the death of eight Nigerians in Katsina State.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NCS, Joseph Attah, he asserted that “the service is a responsible government agency that is mindful of its duty imposed to ensure the safety of citizens.”
Unfortunately, he said, the service’s efficiency is sometimes undermined by unanticipated failures.
While human actions cannot always keep society accident-free, he disclosed that he had directed a holistic investigation into the incident to prevent recurrence.
