Alumni group hails Oyebanji on consensus candidacy, seeks diaspora support

The Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Solidarity Group, under its Diaspora Mobilisation Directorate, has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his emergence as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election.

In a statement signed by the Director of Diaspora Mobilisation, Mr. Opeyemi Allen-Alebiosu, who serves as Vice President of IT Risk, Audit and Compliance at Turnkey Kinetics Services Inc., the group commended Governor Oyebanji for his visionary leadership, inclusive governance, and transformative development agenda that continue to redefine progress in the state.

Allen-Alebiosu emphasised the need for greater unity, investment, and active participation of Ekiti indigenes in the diaspora in the state’s development.

He noted that the diaspora community remains a vital force for economic growth, innovation, and social impact, and should rally behind the governor’s administration to sustain Ekiti’s trajectory of prosperity and stability.

The group applauded Oyebanji’s collaborative and transparent governance style, citing his engagement with past governors, elder statesmen, and respected leaders such as Aare Afe Babalola, Chief Deji Fasuan, and Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN).

It said this inclusive approach has strengthened policy continuity and reinforced Ekiti’s reputation as a model of good governance in Nigeria.

Highlighting achievements in agriculture, education, infrastructure, tourism, and economic diversification, the group commended the governor’s people-focused initiatives, including the Ekiti Food Security Project, the Ring Road Expansion, and the state’s record growth in internally generated revenue.

Reaffirming its support for the governor’s vision of a prosperous, united, and globally competitive Ekiti, the Directorate urged all Ekiti sons and daughters at home and abroad to invest, collaborate, and back the administration’s developmental strides.

“Governor Oyebanji has shown that leadership is about service, inclusion, and tangible results,” the statement read. “His humility, transparency, and commitment to the people’s welfare demonstrate that Ekiti is on the right path.

“We urge all Ekiti indigenes, especially those in the diaspora, to unite in sustaining this progress by encouraging friends and family at home to vote for continuity and shared prosperity.”
