Ambassadors College, Royal Regency, others for CLB Academy Spelling Bee competition

The first preliminary Primary School Category CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition returned last weekend in the Junior Secondary School Category with over 10 schools and 55 students in attendance.

The first preliminary Primary School Category CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition returned last weekend in the Junior Secondary School Category with over 10 schools and 55 students in attendance.

The competition commenced with an opening speech by its host and CEO of Qtaby Events, Victoria Nkong, who introduced the Jury for the day, Efe Omorogbe and renowned journalist, CEO Buckwyld Media and manager of Tuface Idibia (a.k.a 2Baba), Oladapo Oyewumi, among others.

Isolog Schools, Royal Regency Schools, Ambassadors College, Ruling Stars Schools, Straitgate College, Covenant Child Academy, Lekki British International School, Princeton College, will participate at the Second Preliminary Stage.

Others are Dansol High School, Rainbow College, Straitgate High School, Jesilo High School, Brain Breeders School, Attwool School and Debiruss School.

It was a tough competition at the Junior Secondary School Category, as all contestants competed vigorously among themselves to qualify for the grand finale.

At a stage, two keen contestants were evenly matched and went through several rounds of competitive spelling between the two of them before a winner could emerge.

Ten finalists emerged from five rounds and will proceed to the grand finale on December 9, 2017 at the Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Lagos.

The Grand Finale will feature a special French spelling category for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools contestants, which will test the contestants’ French spelling skills and the use of words in French.
