
Fagbohun, a professor of Environmental Law, was until his appointment Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of Lagos.
The appointment, which makes Fagbohun the eighth substantive VC of the institution, came barely 24 hours after Ambode approved five-year single-term tenure for all helmsmen of the state-own tertiary institution.
Also, Governor Ambode named a former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru, to head the Board of Trustees for the N25 billion State Employment Trust Fund (ETF).
Ambode, in a statement, also okayed the appointment of other members of the board, which include Dele Martins, Bilikis Adebiyi-Abiola, Otto Orondaam, Olufunmi Olatunde Daudu, Tunde Bank-Anthony and Micheal Popoola Ajayi.
He also approved for the Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Tunde Durosinmi-Etti and his counterpart in Ministry of Finance, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi to be part of the Board, while Akintunde Oyebode is to serve as Executive Secretary of the Board.
The ETF is geared towards addressing the challenge of youth unemployment as well as promote wealth creation through entrepreneurial development in the state.
State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde confirmed the appointments in a statement.
