Amosun denies fuelling APC crisis in Oyo

Former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has denied being a party to the crisis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, as alleged by a group, The United Front (TUF).

Former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has denied being a party to the crisis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, as alleged by a group, The United Front (TUF).

The group alleged that Amosun was the one sponsoring members of Unity Forum within Oyo APC, which consists Prof. Adeolu Akande, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Bayo Shittu, Dr. Ismail Adewusi, among others, to divide the party into intractable fragments.

But in a reaction yesterday by Senator Amosun’s Media Office, signed by Bola Adeyemi, Amosun said like every other politician of his status, he has friends and associates in all parts of Nigeria and such politicians cut across party lines.

“This does not translate to him interfering in the domestic internal affairs of the political parties they belong to and in the states they come from. It remains unthinkable why Amosun’s name is being dragged into a matter, which he knows nothing about.

Amosun will rather advise members of the APC in Oyo State to find a way to resolve their differences rather than engaging in name dropping.

“For the records, Amosun is not involved in the politics of APC in Oyo or the politics of other parties in Oyo or any state in Nigeria.”
