The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Siminialayi Fubara, has come first in a poll conducted by ANAP foundation.

The statewide opinion poll, commissioned by Anap Foundation and conducted by NOIPolls Limited, was concluded in October. The Poll revealed a substantially close race between Fubara and Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Magnus Abe of Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Dumo Owukori Lulu-Briggs of Accord Party (A) emerged as runners-up in that order.

The results showed a small lead for Fubara with 14 per cent of voters proposing to vote for him if the governorship election were to be conducted today; and 11 per cent proposing to vote for Cole. Abe was third with six per cent and Lulu-Briggs was fourth, with four per cent.

Fubara’s three-point lead at this stage is not sufficient to separate him from a pack of candidates, showing a severely fragmented race.
IN Kano State, the poll revealed a substantially close race between Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Nasiru Gawuna of APC with an 18-point gap between the duo and other candidates.

The results showed a significant lead for Yusuf with 29 per cent of voters proposing to vote for him if the governorship election were to be conducted today; and 21 per cent proposing to vote for Gawuna, who fell to second place. Mohammed Sadiq Wali of PDP was a distant third with only three per cent of voters proposing to vote for him.

IN Lagos State, the poll revealed a significant lead by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC, with Azeez Olajide Adediran of PDP and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of Labour Party (LP) both trailing behind distantly.

The results showed a significant lead for Sanwo-Olu with 30 per cent of voters proposing to vote for him; eight per cent proposing to vote for Adediran and Rhodes-Vivour was a distant third with for percent.

Sanwo-Olu’s 22-point lead at this stage is very significant, as the opposition voters are fragmented and shared between two main challengers in the ratio 30:8:4.

IN Abia State, the poll revealed a significant lead by Alex Otti of LP, with Uchenna Ikonne of PDP and Gregory Charles Ibe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) both trailing.

The results showed a significant lead for Otti with 20 per cent of voters proposing to vote for him; nine per cent propose to vote for Ikonne and Ibe was third with four per cent.

IN Kwara State, the poll confirmed a dominant lead by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRaqaz of APC, with Shuaibu Abdullahi of PDP and Hakeem Lawal of SDP both trailing behind respectively.

The results showed a significant lead for AbdulRaqaz with 30 per cent of voters proposing to vote for him if the governorship election were to be conducted today; and 11 per cent proposing to vote Abdullahi while Lawal was a distant third with only three per cent.
