ANDA ex-boss charges successor to uplift association

Immediate past President of Abuja Newspapers Distributors Association (ANDA), Benji Obute, has charged his successor, Emmanuel John, to build on the strong foundations he laid and move the association to greater height.

Noting that he was able to achieve seven of his 8-point agenda, Obute expressed optimism that John would not disappoint because of his wealth of experience, having served as Assistant General Secretary, General Secretary, Public Relations Association (PRO) and Vice President of the association.

He stated this, on Saturday, when ANDA elected a new executive council to pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years, after his four-year tenure.

In his inaugural speech, John said he was in a hurry to develop the newspapers distribution centre at Area 1, Abuja, in addition to improving members’ welfare.

He solicited the support of members, media houses, public-spirited individuals, political leaders, philanthropists, government and non-governmental organisations for the actualisation of his dreams for the association.

The new exco include Abubakar Shittu (Vice President), Henry Okorieku (General Secretary), Ifeanyi Ezego (Assistant General Secretary), Adedayo Aketepe (Financial Secretary), Eunice Ogundare (Assistant Financial Secretary), Benson Ujong (Treasurer), Alhassan Ibrahim (PRO), Nachi Nwaokoro (Welfare Secretary), Murtala Abdullahi (Provost 1) and Joseph George (Provost 2).
