Anglican Church has urged women to train their children to be become useful to the society.

The President of the women organisation at Saint Peter’s Anglican church, Ijeshatedo, Mrs. Gloria Chibueze, made the call yesterday, while marking World Mothers Day.

She said she was grateful to God that the day, also known as ‘mothering Sunday’ had become a great period.

“My advise to women is that they should continue to encourage themselves to bring up their children in doing the right thing.

“They should train the female youths in a way that they would be wonderful mothers. To be a mother is a thing of joy, but it is not something that women should rush into,” she said.

The theme of this year’s celebration was: “The honoured mothers list: All mothers must be honoured.”

Also, a member of the group, Mrs. Ihuoma Nwokoro, said mothers deserved to be honoured everyday, and not just every year.

She said: “Every woman must uphold her marriage, be faithful to God and to her husband.

The vicar of the church, Rev. Cannon Emmanuel Chibueze advised them to do the good will of God.

Also, the General Manager of Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Kemi Adelusi, enjoined mothers to assist their husbands in running the home.

Adelusi made the appeal at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Lagos when the LASRRA team visited to sensitise on the need to register as residents of Lagos State.
She urged stakeholders to recognise the value of women and the role they play in the family, community and the society at large.
“It is a privilege to be a mother and be alive to see our children growing, doing good under the tutelage of God. I give kudos to women because there are so many of them who are playing the role of men in the home.
Speaking on the theme: “The difference Christ makes in the home,” a preacher, Mrs. Gloria Okeke, said women should allow Jesus to take the centre stage in their homes and situations.
