Agbomhere was alleged to have engaged in conducts capable of embarrassing and ridiculing the party, including “flouting the rules, regulations and decisions of the party as regards conduct of primary election.”
He was accused of absenting himself from meetings he was duly invited, to clear himself of allegations, which amounted to total disregard for the party executive committee and stakeholders.
In the letter of suspension dated April 5, 2017, jointly signed by the Chairman Zakari Ozizi and other 26 executive members in Etsako Central Local Government council, Agbomhere was disciplined also for filing an action in court of law without exhausting all avenues for redress as provided for in the party’s constitution.”
The letter, which was sent to the state chairman was copied to Governor Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu and all other relevant party structures, in the state.”
However, when confronted with the suspension, Agboemhere said: “My purported suspension is not from the party, it was from Adams Oshiomhole and Philip Shaibu. Both of them conspired to do that, because of my position.
Is it the deputy governor that will suspend me? If I am suspended from my ward or from the local government or from the state, it should come from the party secretariat.” The embattled chieftain insisted that Oshiomhole does not want him in the party, saying the former governor is using the deputy governor, even as he said he remains a loyal member of APC.
