Anyaoku, Mimiko, Afolayan, others to engage youths on job opportunities
Former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku; Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and film producer/director, Mr. Kunle Afolayan, will lead other notable Nigerians to a youth empowerment programme in Lagos.
The event, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Multipurpose Hall C, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Yaba, will provide robust conversations with thought leaders and professionals and practical insights on how the successor generation of Nigeria will survive in the post-oil era.
The programme is hosted by Rise Networks, Nigeria’s leading social enterprise on youth in education, entrepreneurship and public service, in partnership with the United Nations (UN) office in Nigeria to mark the 2016 celebration of the International Youth Day.
It will also focus on acquisition of major skills with or without formal education.
Anyaoku, who had been advocating the restructuring of Nigeria, will chair the occasion, while Mimiko will deliver the keynote address.
Other speakers include Group Head, Consumer Banking & Wealth Creation, Diamond Bank Plc and Chairperson of the Governing Council of WIMBIZ – Women in Business Management and Public Service, Aishah Ahmad; feminist writer, newspaper columnist and TV/Radio presenter, Joy Isi Bewaji; a lawyer, social activist and President of Chocolate City Entertainment Group, Audu Maikor; Founder/Managing Director, Future Software Resources, Nkemdilim Begho and Founder of Okadabooks.com, Okechukwu Ofili.
