The national leadership of the City Boy Movement has appointed Bayelsa-based APC chieftain Osomkime Blankson as the organisation’s State Director in Bayelsa.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued at the weekend and forms part of efforts to expand the Movement’s grassroots presence and strengthen youth-focused programmes across the South-South region.
Blankson, a legal practitioner who also holds traditional recognition in the state, said he accepted the role with a commitment to advancing youth engagement and structured mobilisation in Bayelsa.
He described the appointment as an opportunity to deepen participation among young people, adding that his focus would be on building an inclusive framework aligned with the Movement’s national objectives.
According to the appointment letter, Blankson will serve as the principal representative of the City Boy Movement in Bayelsa State and will coordinate activities in collaboration with the organisation’s National Secretariat.
The City Boy Movement operates under the leadership of its grand patron, Seyi Tinubu, and is positioned as a platform aimed at youth mobilisation, civic participation and leadership development.
Political observers note that the group has increasingly emphasised mentorship, skills development and community engagement, particularly among young Nigerians seeking entry points into civic and political life.
With the new appointment, attention is expected to shift towards programme expansion in Bayelsa, including initiatives linked to entrepreneurship, capacity building and social participation.
The Movement said it remains focused on developing future leaders and providing young Nigerians with pathways to contribute to national development through structured engagement and empowerment.
