APC chieftain decamps to PDP in Gombe
Former Governorship Candidate of Change for Progressives Congress (CPC) in 2011 election and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Abubakar Aliyu has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, who disclosed this while speaking with journalists, yesterday, stated that he took the decision to quit the party to save his political career, which could be jeopardised by remaining with the APC, adding that the party was being insensitive to the plight of the people.
Aliyu, who is the leader of APC Adalchi Advocacy group in the state, was accompanied by thousands of his supporters, from the 11 local council areas in the state to the PDP.
He described his defection as the best decision he has taken in his life and removal of the cobweb that has hitherto covered his eyes for so many years in APC.
Aliyu said APC administration has failed the Nigerians and the party has no human face, adding that there are hardships across the land and people are killed on daily basis in the country.
