APC extends membership revalidation by three weeks
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its membership registration/revalidation exercise by three weeks. The expiration was originally billed for March 31, 2021.
The National Secretary, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, explained that the decision followed audit reports from the field.
“Most states for varying reasons, started late and required additional time to conclude the exercise. There is an avalanche of applications from critical stakeholders, including state caretaker chairmen, for an extension of time to capture Nigerians who are still desirous of joining the fold of the progressives,” he said.
The forum, chaired by Ali Bukar Dalori at a press conference in Abuja, observed: “We have seen tremendous turnout of Nigerians and the mass increase in the party strength in the last few months. And it is only proper that we allow the exercise to progress to the best of conclusion.”
