All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it is going to court to challenge the outcome of the March 18 election in the state, saying there was no election in the real sense of it.

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it is going to court to challenge the outcome of the March 18 election in the state, saying there was no election in the real sense of it.

The party, at a press conference at its secretariat, yesterday, claimed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the police worked together to install the state governor’s anointed candidates as winners of the election.

The party, in a statement signed by its Chairman and spokesperson, Emeka Beke and Darlington Nwauju, respectively, said the Saturday election was a systemic institutionalised rigging of the elections by the ruling party in the state.

He said: “As a party, we have repeatedly raised the alarm about how Wike is using state resources that belong to Rivers people to compromise key institutions like INEC and the police.”

“The outgoing governor is gloating that his PDP won elections in Rivers State; but everyone knows that PDP did not win the elections in Rivers State. PDP stole the elections with the active connivance and participation of INEC and the police.”
