The Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress has set up a nine-member committee to resolve the feud between Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa.

The Committee, chaired by a former governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, was mandated to intervene in the differences between the governor and the deputy as well see to the peaceful reconciliation of all parties involved.

The Chief Press Secretary to the APC National Chairman, Edwin Olofu, who made the disclosure in a statement in Abuja last Thursday night, said the APC national secretariat was concerned about the unfortunate political situation in Ondo State.

According to him, the party believes that if the situation in Ondo State is not quickly averted, it may lead to further disaffection among party faithful.

“Therefore, in order to avert the misunderstanding, and after critical observation of the situation, the National Secretariat has decided to wade in, with a view to foster better understanding that may likely lead to amicable resolution.

“The party therefore assures all and sundry that through this Committee, it will interact and dialogue with all the stakeholders in the state based on mutual respect, with a view to finding a lasting solution.

“The National Secretariat urges all parties to remain calm, and extend all the necessary cooperation and support to the Masari-led Committee,” Olofu stated.

Following the cold war between Akeredolu and the deputy, the governor had sacked the media aides attached to Ayedatiwa’s office.

The state House of Assembly has also begun impeachment proceedings against the deputy governor.
