APM faults Oyetola on budget execution
Osun State chapter of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has faulted the claim by Governor Gboyega Oyetola that the 2021 budget recorded 83.6 per cent performance.
The governor, while signing the 2022 Appropriation Bill into law in Osogbo, last week, announced that the 2021 budget, as at the third quarter of the year, had recorded 83.6 per cent performance.
Reacting to the governor’s comment, APM said the budget under-performed.
In a statement issued in Osogbo by the state chairman, Mr. Wale Adebayo, the party said the Oyetola administration was repeating the same budget yearly, to no avail.
APM, which put the budget performance at about 40 per cent, said the state had not moved from “the old practice” of heavy recurrent and little amount of capital projections, which ultimately led to poor implementation of the budget.
“Politics aside, the government has failed the state. Our belief is in the people to show them the exit come next year,” Adebayo said.
