Archangels Parish marks Societies’ Feast Day

ALL lay faithful in Saints Michael, Raphael & Gabriel Catholic Church (Archangels Parish) Satellite Town, Lagos recently celebrated Societies’ Feast Day, which started with Mass at 11.30a.m. Parishioners were, in their society uniforms, showcasing love, peace and joy.

ALL lay faithful in Saints Michael, Raphael & Gabriel Catholic Church (Archangels Parish) Satellite Town, Lagos recently celebrated Societies’ Feast Day, which started with Mass at 11.30a.m. Parishioners were, in their society uniforms, showcasing love, peace and joy.

The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Vincent Ifeanyichukwu Ezezue, in his message delivered by his assistant, said “society is a group of persons bound together organically by a principle of unity that goes beyond any one of them, and encouraged them to be in love with one another, forgive one another, work with one another for the development of the church and humanity, as God is the only one that blesses and rewards.”

There was march past competition by the 22 societies/organisations as well as s also cultural dances. Catholic Women Organization (CWO) came first in the march past, Teachers’ Guild came second and Church Warders took third position.

The Chairman Laity Council, Mr. Chike Agbasi the organizers of the event, thanked the indefatigable and kind- hearted parish priest for sustaining the Laity Council and always placing the wellbeing of the Lay faithful above all considerations. He equally thanked the Societies/Organizations for identifying with Laity Council Programmes and appealed for their support in the Building of the new church hall.
