In commemoration of this year’s World Environment Day (WED, Chief Executive Officer of E-Terra Technologies Limited, Ifeanyi Ochonogor has urged Nigerians to be friends of the environment by reducing pollution and promoting responsible waste management.
The World Environment Day is celebrated as a global platform dedicated to encouraging awareness and action for protection of the environment.
To Ochonogor, “let us work together to build cleaner communities, reduce pollution, promote responsible waste management, and create a sustainable future for generations to come.’
Specifically, he observed environmental challenges such as improper waste disposal, pollution, flooding, deforestation, and climate change continue to threaten health, livelihoods, and economic development.
In addition, he stated, ‘these challenges cannot be left to government alone; they require the collective efforts of citizens, businesses, communities, and institutions.”
Speaking further, he noted, “the 2026 theme focuses on Climate Action, reminding us that the future of our planet depends on the choices we make today. Environmental sustainability is not the responsibility of a few; it is the collective duty of al.’
He also called on citizens, stakeholders, regulators, and captains of industry to embracie responsible environmental practices.
In addition, he stated, ‘as we commemorate World Environment Day, together, through deliberate action and shared commitment, we can build a cleaner, healthier, and safer Nigeria for present and future generations.”
He explained, “At E-Terra Technologies Ltd, we believe that environmental sustainability begins with personal responsibility. Every Nigerian has a role to play in protecting our environment by disposing of waste responsibly, embracing recycling, conserving resources, and supporting environmentally friendly practices.”
“A cleaner environment is not only beneficial to public health but is also essential for economic growth, social well-being, and national development. When we protect our environment, we protect our future,” Ochonogor noted.
