Following the allegation of corruption thrown against the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, some Northern elements have come out to condemn the governor’s statement.
Besides, both Atiku and El-Rufai have recently traded words against each other on corruption charges, which prompted members of the Arewa Defence League (ADL) to criticise the utterances of the governor against the former Vice President, Atiku, yesterday.
In a statement by the President of the group, Mallam Murtala Abubakar, said that “our attention has been drawn to yet again another act of disrespect and reckless utterances of Malam Nasir El-rufai when he referred to Turakin Adamawa as a corrupt leader being hunted by his corruption demon”.
Mallam Abubakar while saying that those living in glass house don’t throw stones, remarked that “El-Rufai is nothing but an ingrate, biting fingers that fed him in the past”, while insisting that the governor “should concentrate on the mandate given to him by the good people of Kaduna State to improve their welfare and protect their lives and property”.
According to him, “It is saddened to note that kidnappers, cattle rustlers among other acts of criminality has taken over his state, yet he has failed to take proactive measures to address it, but instead travels around other states and country without showing the much-deserved attention no his state challenges.
