Arewa youths caution Kwankwaso over Mile 12 market
National President, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima has called on former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to place the interest of the Hausa people trading in the Mile 12 market, Lagos, over and above his political ambition.
Shettima, in a statement yesterday, said the calls necessary because all the moves taken so far by the former governor on the Mile 12 Market crisis portrays him like someone desperate to score cheap publicity.
Shettima said “the fact that he (Kwankwaso) hired media cameramen to claim he had spent money to help people from his own state is a clear indication that he was desperately seeking attention,” adding that the former governor should realise he cannot use Lagos as the launching pad for his 2019 political ambition.
Shettima explained that when the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the 2015 governorship election in Lagos, “the party did so because of the patriotic image and discipline that President Muhammadu Buhari embodies and the desire of Nigerians for change.”
