Again, Armed bandits suspected to be cattle rustlers, have killed two policemen and a civilian in the Maigana District of Soba Local Council of Kaduna State.

The incident, which occurred yesterday, when policemen engaged the armed bandits said to be terrorising communities in the area, in a gun battle.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Agyole Abeh, who confirmed the incident, said the policemen were on a routine patrol in the area when they were ambushed by the gunmen, who opened fire on them.

He explained that the two policemen were shot during the gun battle and died before they could be rushed to a nearby hospital, adding that some of the gunmen escaped with bullet wounds into the bush.

The police boss insisted that no amount of attacks against his men in the State would deter the command from dislodging the criminals from their hideouts, just as vowed to bring the gunmen behind yesterday’s attack to book no matter how long it takes.

Besides, Abeh said relative peace has been restored to Southern Kaduna, following the deployment of armed policemen that have been stationed in all the troubled communities to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
