Armed robbers device new dangerous tactics in Lagos

Armed robbers have devised a new life- threatening robbery tactics in Lagos, as they now come out in numbers on lone roads at night, responsibly dressed, giving people the impression of safety in numbers in order to lure them to their nest, assault them and collect their belongings and personal effects.

The issue of aggravated theft in Lagos has become more alarming and life threatening by the day, as these armed robbers’ tactfully impede people who simply lose all their guards because of the natural safety assurance of crowded places with cutlass and knives.

At Five Star bus stop recently, an eye witness while driving said she saw these gangsters assaulting a middle-aged woman around 9:00pm with cutlass, while she begged for her life. “I immediately put a call across to 112 and the person who responded said they will send police to the location. I am not sure if they responded immediately, but I really think there should be a security post at that bus stop especially at night, from 8:00pm, because the place is always deserted at night “ she said.

There are a number of hot spots where these strategic mishaps is perpetrated: Five Star bus stop along Oshodi Apapa Express way, under Apakun bridge, Osolo way, Sanya bus stop, Ikotun and its environs.
