At armed forces remembrance day, Sanwo-Olu tasks residents on prayers for Nigeria’s unity
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said it is imperative for Nigerians to work to keep Nigeria as one and continue to pray for the unity and progress of Nigeria so that the labours of the nation’s heroes past will not be in vain.
Speaking on Friday at the special jumat service to mark the 2025 annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode, said: “This is a very critical moment in the life of our country, and we need to continue to pray and support the leadership of Nigeria.
“It is our responsibility to support our leaders and also carry out the instructions of Allah on leadership and followership.
“We have survived much turbulence as a people and this period too will soon pass. Nigeria will attain it greater heights and the entire citizenry will enjoy the dividends of our perseverance because after rain comes sunshine.”
Sanwo-Olu stated that the Jumat Service is very important to the government as it affords the government the opportunity to pray to Allah to grant Aljanah Fridaus to fallen heroes and to also keep the families they left behind.
“It is also an avenue to remind us of the need to always be good citizens of our great country, Nigeria,” he added.
