Atiku will restore hope, socio-economic growth, says PDP BoT chair
The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BOT), Sen. Walid Jibril, has described the election of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate as a good omen for the country.
In a statement, yesterday, he expressed his conviction that the former Vice President would save the country from its current socio-economic woes as President.
According to him, Atiku’s success on the PDP primary ballot has opened the opportunity for all Nigerians to bail the nation out of insecurity and economic distress.
His words: “We must remember that Atiku was earlier elected at the PDP primary in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in 2019, but was robbed of the mandate. We must remember the good performance of Atiku as deputy to former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Our party must be fully congratulated for playing a good role and, of course, all our delegates across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) must be commended.
“The BoT also congratulates Senator David Mark and his committee for organising one of the best national conventions after the Port Harcourt convention chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State in 2019.”
He advised members of the party to “come together as one entity, fully together as one party talking with one voice to make our party the greatest not only in Nigeria but in Africa” with no difference in the tribe, section or religion.
“The BoT will assist the party and the Wazirin Adamawa to come up with a very acceptable vice president from southern Nigeria,” he added.
