Operatives of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), yesterday, rescued a woman, her two children going to school, and driver of a Sienna bus, involved in an auto crash around Ajah area of Lagos.
LASTMA official, Odumbo Ekundayo of Zone 14, confirmed that the accident, which involved a Fiat pick-up company van with registration number SMK 297 GD, and Sienna bus marked LSR 105 HW, occurred about 7:30am, at Salau junction, after Jakande first gate, along Lekki-Ajah expressway.
According to him, preliminary investigation revealed that the accident occurred as a result of over speeding, which caused the driver to lose control.
Ekundayo said all rescued victims were rushed to a nearby hospital by the woman’s husband, who was contacted by LASTMA officials at the scene.
He said the two vehicles involved in the accident were handed over to police officers from Ilasan Police Station, by Jakande, who were equally at the accident scene.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba has called on drivers, both private and commercial, to always minimise their speed while on the highway.
