Baby Mirabel seeks N25 million for heart surgery

The family of a seven-month-old baby, Mirabel Olujimi, is seeking N25 million for their daughter’s heart correction surgery. The mother, Omolade Adekunle, who spoke with The Guardian, stated that her daughter was diagnosed with life-threatening heart disease in August 2024, and she now requires urgent medical attention. Out of frustration, she lamented that her husband left them at their Mowe home in Ogun State.

According to the medical report issued by the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Mirabel has been managed for bronchopneumonia with congestive cardiac failure and background congenital heart disease with grade 4/6 pan systolic murmur loudest at the left lower sternal border.

According to research, complications of congenital heart disease can develop in babies who have a severe congenital heart defect characterised by heavy breathing, gasping breaths, and poor weight gain.

Mirabel’s mother also seeks support through the ‘Gifting Volunteer Network’ to save her daughter’s life, the first issue of her union with Mr Olujimi. She said: “Reaching out to the Gifting Volunteer Network was suggested by many, especially those who have testified of the group’s crowdfunding initiative in helping in a situation like this.”

Omolade appealed for assistance to save her daughter’s life. Assistance can be extended to FCMB Account number 1028191029,  Olujimi Mirabel Jadesola, while Mrs Omolade can be reached on 0810 494 8855.
