Bauchi councillors sack chairman, deputy over alleged financial misconduct 

Members of Shira Local Government Legislative Council of Bauchi State have removed the elected Chairman, Ibrahim Abdullahi Beli, and his deputy, Usman Adamu, over alleged gross misconduct, financial mismanagement, and abuse of office.
 
In a letter of Resolution, SLGLC No. 30 issued on February 28, 2025 and obtained yesterday, the lawmakers said the council appointed a committee to investigate allegations against the chairman and his deputy.
   
According to the letter, the committee has submitted its report, “which has been considered by this council; and whereas the report has found the chairman and his deputy guilty of the allegations made against them.”
 
Signed by the Council Leader, Wali Adamu, the correspondence read: “This Council hereby removes Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Beli and his deputy, Hon. Usman Adamu from office as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Shira Local Government respectively, effective immediately from today (yesterday).
 
“This Council hereby declares the office of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Shira Local Government vacant.”
