Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has presented a budget of N213,914,559,427 for the 2021 fiscal year to the House of Assembly for scrutiny.

The document he tagged ‘Budget of Consolidation’ projected N93,197,307,970 for recurrent expenditure (44 per cent) and N120,717,468,313 (56 per cent) for capital expenditure.

Mohammed, while presenting the budget to the lawmakers yesterday, said the current budget was badly hit by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis. But he was optimistic of future improvement of the state’s economy.

According to him, while preparing the budget, the government took into consideration its resolve to reduce ghost workers to a barest minimum, to free resources and create employment.

He added that the budget was in line with the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) guidelines.
