The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two vigilante men for sexually assaulting a housewife at gunpoint in Ningi Local Council.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, in a statement, yesterday, said another 27-year- old man has been arrested for sexually abusing a three-year-old girl in Jimbin Village of Ganjuwa Local Council.

Wakil, who said that the incidents happened on August 24 and 25, identified the vigilante suspects as Lawali Sule, 30 and Babangida Shehu , 30, all of Dogon-ruwa village.

He said: “On August 25, at about 0200hrs, two suspects, who were all armed conspired, stormed the house of one Alhaji Gare and broke into his wife’s room, one Hadiza Alhaji (not real name). They asked her husband’s whereabouts, but he was not at home. Thereafter, they threatened her with a Dane gun to have carnal knowledge of her. She succumbed out of fear.

“One Mato Yohannah, 27, of Jimbin Village, Ganjuwa Local Council was also arrested by detectives of Ganjuwa Divisional headquarters after he had carnal knowledge of a three-year-old girl of the same village.”

The police spokesperson said the three suspects confessed to having committed the crimes, stressing that they would be charged to court for prosecution.
