Bauchi rice mill will produce 600MT daily, says CEO
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tiamin Rice Milling Company, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed, has disclosed that the company, when commissioned in the next two months, will produce 600 metric tonnes of rice per day.
Ahmed made this known at the weekend while conducting the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Cui Jianchun, round the factory, most of which machines were from China.
The company, which the CEO said is into mechanised farming, will employ no fewer than 800 direct staff and 2,000 others on casual basis when production fully takes off.
According to him, the rice factory was built on 11 hectares of land, and the company has traded with China to the tune of $15 million in the last three years.
He expressed appreciation to the state governor, Bala Mohammed, for allocating enough land for the company to operate successfully in the state. Responding, Jianchun assured of his country’s willingness to invest in many sectors of the Bauchi economy.
